Electronic phytosanitary certificates are a relatively new global development gaining a lot of interest and used by constantly increasing number of countries throughout the world. Their global use is supported by the ePhyto Solution system developed under the auspices of the Secretariat of the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC). The system has become fully operational in 2019.
In Europe and Central Asia, the European Union and Uzbekistan have joined the ePhyto system, some other countries have started their preparations to join, while many countries in the region are not on their way to using the system yet.
